Alexa Lachman

Born and raised in South Africa, Alexa has lived in Eugene since 2007. She initially turned to yoga as a way to help her find balance in her professional life and to confront issues from her past that haunted her present by becoming more mindful. In response to leaving a stressful MFA (Creative Writing) program, Alexa completed 200 hour teacher training, desiring to begin to fine tune her practice. She taught hot vinyasa yoga for two years before joining the Eugene Yoga team. Alexa continues to marvel at how life never "plateaus" or becomes easy, but how various aspects of yoga implemented in her daily life help her navigate and explore the possibilities of being with joy and positivity. She is looking forward to immersing herself in the collective wisdom and knowledge that Eugene Yoga offers through its teachers and workshops.

Anne Cooper

Born and raised in Eugene, Anne Cooper's interest in movement began years ago studying ballet at the Eugene School of Ballet. After a 25-year absence, Anne is happy to back and back at teaching and helping people to move with greater ease. Anne's experience includes managing and teaching at her own dance and exercise studio, BodySculpture, as well as choreographing for and performing with her dance company, The Leftside Dancers. As a jazz dance teacher, she taught for her mentor, Betsy Haug, in New York City and in the Northwest Anne has worked at Lane Community College, Lewis & Clark College and Body Moves in Portland. Anne became a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Teacher®in 2006 in Seattle and more recently became a certified MELT Method Instructor. A Humanities graduate of the University of Washington, Anne continues to explore the "humanity" in movement and in daily living.
